Resuscitation Service

This is a one hour face to face course, consisting of a 30 minute theoretical session and a 30 minute practical session.

Validity

All patient facing staff must attend resuscitation training  on an annual basis in order to retain their knowledge, skills and confidence in resuscitation skills.

Background

Early and safe resuscitation can save lives.

All patient facing staff must have resuscitation skills which, as a minimum meet those expected of a lay person in the community.

Members of the public who call for an ambulance via 999 recieve telephone guidance which is not avbailable in hospitals, hence the expectation that all patient facing staff working in hospitals should have a basic knowledge of resuscitation.
