Course Structure

This is a one day face to face course

Validity

Following successful completion of the course, Link trainers are expected to complete an assessed session as soon as practical and annually thereafter.

Collegues unable to meet this committment are kindly asked to inform the resuscitation service.

Intended Audience

Our ambition is to identify one or two members of staff from each department who can act as a link trainer.

Course Format

The candidate will attend a free study day in which they will be introduced to the priciples of skill acquisition and a teaching methodology referred to as the '4 stage approach'.

Cardiac arrest trolley, equipment maintainence and provision are included.

Pre Course Preperation

Documentation will be sent to candidates one month before the course, which must be read before the face to face session.

Assessment

Continuous assessment occurs throughout ther course, which is based upon teaching simulations which allow candidates to demonstrate what they have learned.

Upon sucessful completion,  candidates will be issued with a certificate for their portfolio and another to display in the ward area so staff know that they can access training locally.
